Only one spot left: 3 more players join Team USA / News - Basketnews.com
With one month left to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Team USA continues to successfully shape their roster.
Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday and Kevin Love have committed to join Team USA’s 12-man roster, which now leaves only one free spot in Gregg Popovich’s team.
It will be the first Summer Olympics for Milwaukee Bucks duo, whilst Love will be making a return after nine years since winning gold medal in London games.
So far, eleven Americans have committed to join their national team – Middleton, Holiday, Love, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Draymond Green, Bam Adebayo, Jayson Tatum, and Bradley Beal.
Earlier, it was reported that Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul also agreed to join Team USA, but at the end, he decided to decline an invitation. Golden State Warriors hero Stephen Curry and Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell also won’t be joining Team USA.
Team USA will be playing in Group A, where they’ll face Iran, France and a winner from Victoria Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
The 20th Olympic Basketball Tournament will take place in Tokyo, Japan from 24 July to 8 August.
