Hawks coach on Giannis free throws routine: ‘It’s a rule we want refs to call’ / News - Basketnews.com
The free throw routine of the Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a talking point throughout these NBA Playoffs.
Antetokounmpo usually takes more than 10 seconds to attempt his free throw, which is a rule violation. Atlanta Hawks head coach Nate McMillan expects that the referees will honor the regulations.
“It’s a rule we want them (referees) to call,” McMillan said before Game 2. “We hope that, if it happens again, that it is called.”
However, during the Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals Antetokounmpo’s free throws were the least of the Hawks worries as Atlanta was beaten 91:125.
In 29 minutes, Antetokounmpo finished with 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Bucks star also knocked 3 free throws out of 4.
