Tomas Satoransky: 'Going to Olympics bigger than going to the NBA' / News - Basketnews.com
The Czech Republic made history on Sunday night by defeating Greece and qualifying for the country's basketball first-ever Olympic participation. After the game head coach Ronen Ginzburg and tournament MVP Tomas Satoransky shared their thoughts.
Player of the Game EFF 28 Jan Vesely Points 16 Accuracy 7-9 Rebounds 8 Assists 5
Ronen Ginzburg: "Amazing feeling, right now I can't explain it, but in few days I will understand it. It's a dream come true. We have great bunch of guys with great character. I was a little worried about where they would find power to play today, because yesterday they played a lot of minutes and this guy (Tomas Satoransky) told me before the game that he was a little bit tired. Amazing!"
Tomas Satoransky: "It doesn't matter how I play individually, we came here to qualify for the Olympics. I know for me and all those guys in the locker room, go to Olympics was the biggest dream, since I was a kid. Bigger than going to the NBA.
Coach is right, I was a little tired before the game. But I think today Jan Vesely was the motivator and the guy who really got us going. He told us Serbia lost against Italy, he was so motivated to be there at the Olympics, he just played with such energy, he changed the game for us.
This goes to all of our fans."
