Panathinaikos reportedly close to center Jehyve Floyd / News - Basketnews.com
In just two days, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens announced the signings of Nemanja Nedovic and Kendrick Perry. But the "Greens" have a long way to go until they complete their roster. Their next move is likely to be Jehyve Floyd. The 24-year-old center, who has a verbal agreement with the club, is familiar with Greece, as he played there for a short time during the last two seasons.

As a result, the American big moved to Israel and singed with Hapoel Gilboa Galil, where he reached the Winner League finals. Gilboa eventually fell to Maccabi Tel Aviv, but Floyd had several good performances, averaging 11.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game in the Israeli league. He was also extremely impactful, shooting on a great 72,4% from the field.Maccabi had been eyeing him, but the case did not go any further. Panathinaikos head coach Dimitris Priftis wants to create a competitive frontline. It appears that Floyd can form - at least on paper - an effective duo with Papagiannis in the frontline thanks to his athleticism and physical game.
Born and raised in Parlin, New Jersey, Floyd played high school basketball at Sayreville War Memorial and college basketball for the Holy Cross Crusaders, where he was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year in both 2018 and 2019.
