Nigeria continues the preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo and announced a preliminary 15-man squad list.
The list includes eight NBA players - Jahlil Okafor (Detroit Pistons), Gabe Vincent, KZ Okpala, Precious Achiuwa (all Miami Heat), Miye Oni (Utah Jazz), Josh Okogie (Minnesota Timberwolves), Metu Chimezie (Sacramento Kings), and Jordan Nwora (Milwaukee Bucks).
At the very beginning, Nigeria’s preliminary roster consisted of 49 players, and 12 of them were from the NBA. Al-Farouq Aminu, OG Anunoby, Monte Morris, and Udoka Azubuike were not included in the updated list.
Head coach Mike Brown said he will announce the final 12-man roster days before the trip to Tokyo.
Nigeria will be competing in Group B alongside Australia, Germany, and Italy.
