The winners were announced during the EuroLeague Clubs Business Meeting on July 8 in Barcelone.
EuroLeague invited its clubs to present marketing initiatives they had carried out during the previous season. The winners were selected based on their work in digital strategy, sponsorship activation, brand development, and game presentation.
Bayern was chosen for the Gold Award due to the club's Virtual Audi Dome project. By signing up, Bayern fans could participate in live pregame shows, shop at the FC Bayern Store, engage in Zoom calls with club members, and more.
Last season's Gold Award winner, Anadolu Efes, was awarded the Silver Award this year because of three different initiatives. The team used video technology to create a game-like atmosphere that allowed fans' live cheering and reactions during live broadcasts of the game. They also have live-streamed pregame activities on Twitter and YouTube. Lastly, Efes brought players and staff members for online conversations with the fans.
Crvena Zvezda was presented with the Silver Award last year. This time, the team was awarded bronze by including fan names in the team's main logo, adding a special pregame show to its broadcasts, setting up 1 000 LED screens on its home court, and fully branding the Stark Arena for sponsors. Zvezda also created Viber sticker packs for social media channels and introduced a new Crvena Zvezda Podcast.
