After a five-year run with ALBA Berlin, Peyton Siva is leaving the German club in order to join the New Zealand Breakers for the upcoming NBL season.

The Breakers are also remaining among the most active teams in free agency, signing France's Hugo Besson to a three-year deal.

Siva, 31, was crowned NCAA champion with Rick Pitino's Louisville Cardinals in 2013. That same year, he was chosen in the NBA draft with the 56th pick by the Detroit Pistons, for which he played one year. The Seattle-born point guard never really caught on in the NBA.

Upon coming to Europe, he first signed with Italian Juvecaserta and in 2016 with Aito Garcia Reneses' ALBA Berlin, which he guided to two BBL championships, in 2020 and 2021. In 2018, he was named to the All-BBL First Team.
