EWE Baskets Oldenburg have acquired point guard Max Heidegger via a loan from Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.

The 24-year-old signed his first professional contract with Maccabi in 2020. The Israeli powerhouse loaned Heidegger to Bnei Herzeliya towards the second part of last season. Previously, he played four seasons in the NCAA with the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos.

Heidegger played in 27 Israeli Basketball Premier League games last year. The 1.90 guard averaged 18.2 points (41.8% from three), 2.6 assists, 2 boards, and 15.4 EFF over 28.2 minutes with Bnei Herzeliya.

Oldenburg will compete in Group H of the upcoming Basketball Champions League season. The German team will face Besiktas Icrypex, Hereda San Pablo Burgos, and Rytas Vilnius.
