Lenovo Tenerife have announced a one-year contract with Canadian big man Kyle Wiltjer.

After four seasons in the NCAA with the Kentucky Wildcats and Gonzaga Bulldogs, Wiltjer went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft.

However, he did get a crack at the NBA by playing one year with the Houston Rockets and their G League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Wiltjer appeared in 14 NBA games, averaging 0.9 points and 0.7 rebounds per game.

The 2.08 m power forward/center signed with Olympiakos Piraeus in 2017 and spent one year with the Greek team. Next season, he represented Unicaja Malaga.

After two seasons in the EuroLeague and the EuroCup, the 28-year-old moved to Turkey and spent the last two years as a member of Turk Telekom.

Wiltjer was excellent in the Turkish Basketball Super League last season, averaging 18.7 points (44.4% from three), 5.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 19.0 EFF over 33.3 minutes.

In the Basketball Champions League, Wiltjer accumulated 15.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 15.0 EFF over 33.1 minutes.

Lenovo Tenerife will compete in Group A of the Basketball Champions League next season. The Spanish team will face Dinamo Sassari, Mhp Riesen Ludwigsburg, and a team that will emerge from the qualification tournament.
