Reunion: CSKA finalizing a deal with Shved / News - Basketnews.com
A long-time reunion is emerging. Per BasketNews sources, CSKA Moscow is finalizing a deal with Alexey Shved.
According to sources, CSKA and Shved are working on the final details, including the contract term. Both sides are discussing a multi-year deal, per BasketNews sources.
Evrostavka first reported the news about the agreement. Sportando's Emiliano Carchia later also confirmed both sides being close to a deal.
Shved, 32, signed a three-year contract with Khimki Moscow Region last summer. But the Russian star hit the free agency since Khimki is out of the VTB League the following season.
Per BasketNews sources, the Khimki sponsors, who helped make a deal with Shved, are expected to pay the difference between the current and the next Shved contract.
Shved was the top scorer of the Euroleague the last season, averaging 19.8 points per game. He was also the second most efficient Euroleague player (PIR 19.6), adding 3.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
The winner of multiple Alphonso Ford top scorer trophies began his career with CSKA Moscow in 2006. He left CSKA in 2012 for the NBA, where he spent three years with Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks.
