Another Big Three? Warriors’ front office internally discussed a trade package for Lillard / News - Basketnews.com
The Golden State Warriors are thinking about doing what they already have done in the past - to lure the most wanted star of the off-season to their team.
According to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater, the Warriors’ front office already discussed the idea among themselves about a possibility to trade for the Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard.
It is thought that the Warriors’ offer could include James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, 7th and 14th picks in the upcoming NBA draft, plus more future first-round picks.
Klay Thompson, who missed the last couple of seasons after two devasting leg injuries, will also make his return next season. This would shape the new Big Three of Stephen Curry, Lillard, and Thompson if the deal between the Blazers and the Warriors will go through.
This season, Lillard averaged 28.8 points, 7.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in 67 games played.
Lillard has been playing for the Blazers his whole career - from 2012 when he was selected with the 6th pick by the Portland team.
