The 2021-22 EuroLeague season calendar is here!
The full schedule has been released and the EuroLeague season will start on September 30. The first week of action will kick off these matchups:
AS Monaco v Panathinaikos OPAP Athens; Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv v FC Bayern Munich; AX Armani Exchange Milan v CSKA Moscow; Real Madrid v Anadolu Efes Istanbul;Week 1 will wrap up with these exciting games:
UNICS Kazan v Zenit St Petersburg; Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul v Crvena Zvezda Mts Belgrade; LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne v Zalgiris Kaunas; Olympiacos Piraeus v Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz; FC Barcelona v ALBA Berlin.Soon after all 18 teams get rolling, the first of seven double-weeks next season will come in Rounds 3 and 4 between Tuesday, October 12th, and Friday, October 15th. ALBA Berlin, CSKA Moscow, Real Madrid, Milan, and ASVEL will each play two home games within 72 hours. The month of October will end with a second double-week for a total of seven games per team before the start of November.
The first rematch of last season's final between FC Barcelona and Anadolu Efes Istanbul will take place on the 3rd of December in Turkey. Both teams will meet again on January 13th in Barcelona.
Meanwhile, the El Clasico will tip-off on the 10th of December in the Palau Blaugrana arena. The second game between Spanish powerhouses is scheduled on February 11th.
Battles between Greek giants - Olympiacos Piraeus and Panathinaikos OPAP Athens are scheduled on December 23rd and March 17th.
EuroLeague debutants AS Monaco Basket will begin their journey with a home opener against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, while UNICS Kazan will take on Zenit St Petersburg.
October, with seven rounds, and December, with six, will be the two busiest months of the regular season. 18 of 34 regular season rounds are scheduled before the end of the calendar year.
Apart from those two months, however, the schedule is equally spread out during the other months of the season, including February, which has a traditional week off due to domestic cup competitions but still has four scheduled rounds.
The regular season is due to finish on April 8, 2022, when the top eight teams in the standings will be advancing to the best-of-five playoff series.
