LeBron James passes 38,000 career points

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is now just the secondplayer in NBA history to surpass 38,000 career points.

James passed the record with 5:41 left in the first quarterduring the Lakers' Sunday night game against the Philadelphia76ers.

The 38-year-old James, now playing in his 20th season, isclosing in on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA's all-time leadingscorer. Abdul-Jabbar holds the record with 38,387 points.
