The Spanish National Team lost another member during the preparation for the Tokyo Olympics. The Spanish Basketball Federation announced that Real Madrid's 20-year-old guard Carlos Alocen had contracted Covid-19.

Spanish national team now has 14 remaining candidates and is traveling to Las Vegas, where the last friendly match against the United States awaits on Sunday.
Alocen recorded 3.9 points, 2.3 assists, and 3.3 EFF over 13.4 minutes in the EuroLeague last season. The 1.92 m guard averaged 4.3 points, 1.8 assists, and 3.6 EFF over 12.5 minutes in the Spanish Liga ACB.
Spain have recently lost Juancho Hernangomez, who dislocated his shoulder in a friendly match and also will not be able to compete in the Olympics.
Spain will be in Group C of the Olympic Basketball Tournament. They will face Japan, Argentina, and Slovenia.
