The return of Olympiacos Piraeus to the first division of Greek basketball seems to be underway. After two years in the second division, where the club's development team won its promotion to the Basket League (Greece's first-tier division), the management officially submitted the paperwork in order for them to be entitled to participate in the league, starting next season.Olympiacos' development team was promoted through the playoffs of the second division of Greek basketball, but the decision on whether to register in the Basket League was pending. As it turned out, the "Reds" decided to submit their documents online, in a move that is not binding regarding the participation of the team in the first division. For the comeback to happen, Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, the club's owners, are waiting for the outcome of the elections in the Greek Basketball Federation, which are to be held on September 12.Last Monday, for the first time in two years, Olympiacos participated in the meeting of the organizing authority of the Greek League. On July 21, the Greek League's board will again feature the club's representatives - only this time the "Reds" will actively participate in the process, expressing their opinion on the issues put on the table.
