Polish powerhouse Anwil Wlocławek will take part in the historic, first edition of the European North Basketball League, it was officially announced.
Led by the Latvian Edgars Zanders, Founder & CEO at European Women's Basketball League and Head Manager of the European Youth Basketball League, the league is aimed at those clubs that are not eligible to play in the FIBA Champions League or the FIBA Europe Cup due to certain restrictions, but still want to participate in a competition outside of their country.
Anwil wanted to play in Europe and the newly-founded competition suits them well. "I do not hide that this is a priority for us," Arkadiusz Lewandowski, CEO of KK Wloclawek, said recently.

At the moment, little is known about the teams joining this new project. "We will officially present the list of all participants in August," explained Mariks Noviks, press officer of ENBL. "We're already thinking about the development of our project, assuming that 16 teams will participate from 2022 onwards," he added.
