Margiris Normantas returns to Rytas, Arnas Butkevicius stays on / News - Basketnews.com

As reported before, Normantas had a verbal agreement with Vilnius Rytas. Now, he is officially a player of the Lithuanian second strongest team again. Meanwhile, team captain, Arnas Butkevicius will remain with the squad for the upcoming season, according to BasketNews sources.

Margiris Normantas has been a member of Rytas organization from 2016 until 2019. Last season, the point/shooting guard with Lietkabelis Panevezys recorded the averages of 11.9 points and 2.6 assists in the EuroCup (22 minutes of playing time).

Butkevicius has been representing Rytas since mid-December 2017. In the 2020-2021 Basketball Champions League season, he averaged 7.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists (5 games). The small forward also represented the Lithuanian national team in the FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Kaunas a couple of weeks ago, where he played on average 19 minutes in four matches and registered a statistic of 7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2 assists.
