According to Josh Halickman from Sports Rabbi, Omri Casspi will hold a press conference on Sunday night, during which he is expected to announce his retirement from basketball.
33-year-old forwardIsraeli was the first one to be selected in the first round (23rd overall) of an NBA Draft and, also, the firstIsraeli to play in anNBA game. Throughout his career, Casspi played for seven NBA teams and holds career averages of 7.9 PPG, 4 RPG, and 1.1 APG. He scored a career-high 36 points (for the Sacramento Kings) in a loss against the Golden State Warriors on December 28, 2015.
In the 2017-18 season, Casspi was a member of the Golden State Warriors but was waived by the team before the start of the Playoffs. However, he subsequently received a championship ring from the Warriors for his contribution during the 2017–18 season.
Last season Omri Casspi played in his native Israel for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv. The veteran averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds while appearing in 16 EuroLeague games.
