The Bucks lead the Phoenix Suns 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Game 6 is set for Tuesday night in Milwaukee.
Budenholzer has one year remaining on his contract.
"We'll deal with it at the end of the year," team principal governor Marc Lasry said. "Nobody has talked about it."
Budenholzer's future has been the subject of speculation since Milwaukee lost to eventual champion Toronto in the 2019 Eastern Conference finals. Doubts were heightened after they lost to the Miami Heat in the second round of the playoffs last season in the bubble near Orlando.
"There was no truth to it," Lasry said of reports Budenholzer could be out. "But what ends up happening is you can't sort of listen to what the media is talking about because they were going to write what they need to write. I just felt bad for Bud. That was really it. How would you like to be reading about yourself, people saying it's over. I get it. It's part of the business we're all in. I think it was hard for him."
Budenholzer, 51, was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2018-19 when the Bucks finished 60-22 in his first season in Milwaukee.
In three seasons, Budenholzer has a 164-65 regular-season record with the Bucks. In the playoffs, they are 30-17 under Budenholzer.
