Zalgiris Kaunas and Martinas Geben have mutually terminated his contract and the big man didn't take long to find his new career stop. Brose Bamberg announced the addition of the 26-year-old via a Twitter post.

The sides agreed to a one-year contract. After playing in the EuroLeague for the past seasons, Geben will his debut in the Basketball Champions League next year.

"Brose gives me the chance to play in front of a fantastic and loyal fan base. It's a great opportunity and I'm looking forward to taking my first step in professional basketball outside of Lithuania! The most important thing for me, in addition to high-class team basketball and hopefully many wins, is that we can play in front of our fans! I'm a team-oriented player and someone who can do a little bit of everything on the floor. I mostly play under the basket, but I can also shoot from a distance or find a free teammate and I am a reliable free-throw shooter," said Geben in a statement.

Last season he averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8 minutes of action in the EuroLeague. Geben scored a career-high 12 points (on 5 for 5 shooting) in a win against ALBA Berlin on March 30, 2021.

"Martinas will give us a lot of strength and physique around the basket. In addition to his rebound strength, he is capable of finishing in almost any situation," said Brose head coach Johan Roijakkers about his new center.

Brose Bamberg will have to go through a Qualifying tournament in order to advance to the BCL. Their qualification Group C will take place in Tallinn, Estonia on September 13-17.
