Eight international players, Josh Giddey (6), Australia, Jonathan Kuminga (7), the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Franz Wagner (8), Germany, Chris Duarte (13), Dominican Republic, Alperen Sengun (16), Turkey, Kai Jones (19), Bahamas, Usman Garuba (23) and Santi Aldama (30), both Spain, were selected in the first round of NBA Draft.

Franz Wagner, younger brother of Moritz Wagner, was the highest European player selected in this year's draft. It appears that both brothers will have a chance to play for the Orlando Magic.

Usman Garuba (Spain), who has a pretty steep buyout price, was selected 23rd overall by the Houston Rockets. Garuba is currently playing for Spain national team in Tokyo Olympics.
Lithuanian Rokas Jokubaitis was the first international player off the board in the second round. He recently signed with FC Barcelona, but has the option of going overseas.
Filip Petrusev (21, 2.11), who wished for a warm-weather team, will be going to Philadelphia instead after the Sixers selected him 50th overall.
The draft was closed with the selection of Georgios Kalaitzakis (Greece). The 22-year-old guard spent last season with Panathinaikos OPAP Athens.
