Financial terms were not reported. Kanter seemingly confirmed the move, posting #BleedGreen to his Twitter account with a photo of him in a Celtics uniform.

Kanter (29, 2.08) played for the Celtics in 2019-20 before opting to play in Portland last season. Kanter tied for the NBA lead with 72 games played in 2020-21. He averaged 11.2 points and 11.0 rebounds in playing 24.4 minutes per game with the Trail Blazers last season.

For his career, Kanter is averaging 11.5 points and 7.9 rebounds in 713 games (258 starts) for five teams, including the Utah Jazz, who selected him No. 3 overall in the 2011 draft.

The news comes amid a report by Nordic Monitor that Kanter faces nine outstanding arrest warrants by Turkish authorities - including six for allegedly defaming Turkey President Tayyip Erdogan - issued in 2017, ‘19, ‘20, and '21. Kanter has been and continues to be an outspoken critic of the Turkish regime over their human rights violations and restrictions on fundamental freedoms.
