European pre-qualifiers of the 2023 FIBA World Cup wrapped up yesterday, with Belarus, Iceland, Latvia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Portugal, Slovakia, and Sweden advancing to the 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
The eight countries have joined the remaining 24 that will compete in the 2022 EuroBasket. All 32 teams will fight for a spot in the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
FIBA has announced that the World Cup qualifiers will take place right before the 2022 EuroBasket. The qualifiers will be played from August 22 to 30, where 12 out of 32 European nations will secure a spot in the 2023 World Cup.
After the qualification is finished, the 24 teams will compete in the 2022 EuroBasket that is set to kick off on September 1. The four best teams from each group will advance to the playoff stage.
