But Memphis made few trades recently, and they're currently loaded with point guards. The Grizzlies have Ja Morant, Tyus Jones, and Rajon Rondo on their backcourt.
Although Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian reports that Rondo is not expected to be with Memphis at the start of the season, BasketNews sources say that Grizzlies could offer Pangos an exhibit 10 contract only. That means Pangos contract wouldn't be guaranteed, and the team could waive him before the regular season or flip it into a two-way deal. Per BasketNews sources, a guaranteed contract was always a priority for Pangos.
The Cavaliers roster sits at 14, with Damyean Dotson, Lamar Stevens, Dean Wade, and Mfiondu Kabengele on non-guaranteed contracts for the upcoming season.Currently, Pangos would be the third Cavaliers point guard behind Darius Garland and Ricky Rubio.
With 22 days into the NBA free agency, Pangos remains a free agent.Last season a 1.86 m Canadian guard averaged 13.5 points, two rebounds, 6.7 assists per the EuroLeague game for Zenit Saint Petersburg.
"The club did everything to keep Kevin in Zenit. But he has a goal that did not allow us to do this. We respect and understand any decision of this player," the general director of Zenit, Alexander Tserkovny, told Sergey Yaremenko from RIA Novosti.
