Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade officially announced their newest addition for the next season: big man Balsa Koprivica. The player, who was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 57th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and then traded to the Detroit Pistons, has signed a three-year contract with the Serbian club.
Balsa's father, Slavisa Koprivica, is a former Partizan Belgrade player and won the Euroleague title in 1992 playing under coach Obradovic. Balsa moved to the United States when he was only 12-years-old. He attended several high schools, including the prestigious Montverde Academy in Florida. After high school, he decided to play college basketball at Florida State.
In his sophomore year with Florida State, he averaged 9.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. In the past few weeks, he was playing for the Detroit Pistons in the Summer League.
