Mike James is coming back to Moscow. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that a 31-year-old scorer will suit up for red-and-blue again.

BasketNews sources confirm the information that James will visit the Russian capital this week. However, the purpose of this trip is not clear yet.
"The club and the player have not agreed on the terms of termination of the contract, so Mike, like other basketball players who have agreements with CSKA, will be at the club's location. At the same time, James will train individually, without connecting to work with the main team,"CSKA released the statement on Mike James' situation after the news broke about his arrival.
As of right now, Mike James is officially a CSKA player. His deal with CSKA runs through 2023.
"I wouldn't like to discuss this topic at the moment publicly. When we have news, we'll certainly inform about it," Andrey Vatutin told Timur Ganeev from Sport-Express last week, asked about the contract termination.
Mike James has one of the most compelling cases in free agency on both sides of the Atlantic. Despite his multi-year contract with CSKA, he reached an agreement with Moscow's club last season, which allowed him to become a free agent until the end of 2020-21, clearing the way to sign with the Brooklyn Nets.
BasketNews sources say James is expected to stay in the NBA. The Brooklyn Nets declined the qualifying offer for James, making him an unrestricted free agent. But James proved he belongs in the NBA, averaging 7.7 points and 4.2 assists per 18 minutes in 13 games for Brooklyn.
CSKA are still on the market for a guard. According to BasketNews sources, CSKA will not force the signing. It might be related to Kevin Pangos' free agency status. With 22 days into the NBA free agency, he's still looking for a guaranteed contract.
