Veteran Kevin Love apparently isn't interested in seeking a buyout of his contract from the Cleveland Cavaliers, which would give him a fresh start elsewhere.

His agent, Jeff Schwartz, told ESPN on Saturday that Love remains committed to the Cavs, to whom he is under contract for two more years and $60 million. He signed a four-year $120.4 million contract extension with Cleveland in July 2018.

"There have been no talks with Cleveland on a buyout, nor is there any interest from Kevin in doing a buyout," Schwartz told ESPN.

Love, who turns 33 on September 7, was limited to just 25 games last season because of a calf injury. In the 2018-19 season, he played just 22 games because of a variety of injuries, including a broken hand.

Love could see his playing time dwindle following the Cavaliers' acquisition of forward Lauri Markkanen from the Chicago Bulls this week. Cleveland also drafted 7-footer Evan Mobley from Southern California with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Last season, Love averaged 12.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 24.9 minutes, all significantly below his career averages of 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 31.7 minutes.

The No. 5 overall pick of the 2008 NBA Draft, Love has appeared in 738 career games (655 starts) with the Minnesota Timberwolves (2008-14) and Cleveland. A five-time All-Star, he won an NBA title with the LeBron James-led Cavs in 2016.

The New York Post reported Friday that the Brooklyn Nets would be interested in signing Love should the Cavaliers wind up buying out his contract. A move to the Nets would reunite him with Kyrie Irving, his teammate on Cleveland's title team.
