Yesterday, 32 European teams were divided into eight Pots according to the FIBA World Ranking. Today, the FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers Draw Ceremony took place in Switzerland, where eight groups were set.
Europe Qualification Groups:
Group A: Serbia, Latvia, Belgium, Slovakia; Group B: Greece, Turkey, Great Britain, Belarus; Group C: Slovenia, Croatia, Finland, Sweden; Group D: Germany, Poland, Israel, Estonia; Group E: France, Montenegro, Hungary, Portugal; Group F: Lithuania, Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria; Group G: Spain, Ukraine, Georgia, North Macedonia; Group H: Italy, Russia, Netherlands, Iceland.The three best teams in each group will advance to the second stage, where four groups of six teams each will be formed. The teams that will take one of the first three spots in each group will win a ticket to the World Cup.
Six windows will take place, where each team will face the other three squads in their group on a home and away basis. Teams will play two games each per window.
Window No. 1 dates: November 20 - 30, 2021; Window No. 2 dates: February 21 - March 1, 2022; Window No. 3 dates: June 27 - July 5, 2022; Window No. 4 dates: August 22 - 30, 2022; Window No. 5 dates: November 7 - 15, 2022; Window No. 6 dates: February 20 - 28, 2023.Africa Qualification Groups:
Group A: Nigeria, Mali, Uganda, Cape Verde; Group B: Tunisia, Cameroon, South Sudan, Rwanda; Group C: Angola, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Guinea; Group D: Senegal, Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya.Asia/Oceania Qualification Groups:
Group A: New Zealand, Korea, Philippines, India; Group B: Australia, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei; Group C: Jordan, Lebanon, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia; Group D: Iran, Kazakhstan, Syria, Bahrain.The Americas Qualification Groups:
Group A: Argentina, Venezuela, Panama, Paraguay; Group B: Brasil, Uruguay, Colombia, Chile; Group C: Canada, Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands, Bahamas; Group D: USA, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Cuba.The 2023 World Cup will be held from August 25 to September 10, 2023, in three countries: Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines. The World Cup will include 5 African teams, 7 teams from the Americas, 12 from Europe, and 8 from Asia and Oceania.
