The basketball legend from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirza Teletovic, returns to the floor.
The 35-year-old forward was forced to retire three years ago due to a difficult medical condition - embolism in the lungs. After a three-year absence, Teletovic is set to make a comeback for Jablanica Turbina.
The team is a member of the second Bosnian division. Teletovic took his first steps toward becoming a professional basketball player in Jablanica.
"I played abroad for 18 years, but I have not forgotten my roots," Teletovic said. "Turbina is my team, my son and his friends play here. The young players will take on the majority of the load, but I will try to help them."
The president of the Bosnian Basketball Federation said that he plans to play in the upcoming season and decide whether to continue in 2022-23 afterward.
The 2.06 m sharpshooter played in the NBA from 2012 to 2018. He appeared in 324 games and averaged 8.1 points and 3.2 rebounds over 18 minutes.
Before departing overseas, Teletovic was a member of Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz and played phenomenally in the 2011-12 EuroLeague campaign, where he accumulated 21.7 points, 6 rebounds, and 20.7 PIR.
