Yesterday Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced that one of their players has tested positive for coronavirus, adding that all the players and staff would undergo a PCR test.

Today, the club informed that three other players and a member of the staff received positive results in PCR tests this morning, which increased the number of persons infected to five.

As a result, the Israeli team had to cancel its participation in the "bwin TOURNAMENT AGAINST COVID-19" hosted by Olympiacos Piraeus at the Peace and Friendship Stadium next weekend (September 4 and 5).

The place of the team coached by Giannis Sfairopoulos will be covered by Peristeri, Olympiacos BC announced.

After this development, there was a change in the schedule of the first day (4/9).

AS Monaco - Peristeri 17:00 CET

Olympiacos - Lavrio at 19:30 CET.

Maccabi are also set to play the Neofytos Chandriotis 2021 tournament (September 9-12, Cyprus), along with CSKA Moscow, Olympiacos Piraeus, and Zenit St Peterburg.

They have another trip to Greece scheduled for September, in order to take part in the Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament (September 18-19), hosted by Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and featuring also Anadolu Efes Istanbul and Partizan NIS Belgrade.
