Real Madrid managed to erase a double-digit deficit, but in the end, it wasn’t enough for the win.
UCAM Murcia 84-80 (16-22, 24-14, 25-13, 19-31) beat Real and won in a friendly tournament. It was the first game of the pre-season for the Madrid club.
In the middle of the fourth quarter, Murcia was leading 76-62, but Real made 13-2 run and came back to the game (75-78).
Murcia, however, managed to hold off and celebrated the victory, as well as the trophy.
Thad McFadden scored 18 points and was announced as an MVP of the tournament. Jordan Davis added 10 points, Emanuel Cate and Nemanja Radovic - 9.
Real’s top scorer was newly acquired Geurschon Yabusele, who scored 19 points. Fabien Causeur added 15 points, while Vincent Poirier - 14.
In the other pre-season game, UNICS Kazan 100-64 (20-11, 29-20, 25-21, 26-12) crushed Runa’s team from Moscow.
Mario Hezonja scored 22 points and added 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.
John Brown finished the game with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Andrey Vorontsevich added 13 points and Vyacheslav Zaitsev – 9 points and 3 rebounds.
