Partizan NIS Belgrade played in a semi-final game at the Liburnia Cup on Wednesday against Cibona Zagreb. However, their first showing at the friendly tournament was not successful, as Zeljko Obradovic's squad lost 64-71 (11-22, 22-14, 11-9, 20-26).

Partizan jumped out to an early 5-9 lead to start the match, but Cibona responded and led by 11 after one (11-22).

The Serbian powerhouse came back and cut the deficit to a single point after three quarters. But Cibona were a better team in the final period and came away with a semi-final victory.

In the other semi-final, Cedevita Olimpia edged out Victoria Libertas Pesaro in overtime 109-105 to advance to the final, where they will face Cibona.

Meanwhile, Partizan will settle for the third-place game against Pesaro on Friday.

Alen Smailagic did not suit up for Partizan due to a knee injury and Kevin Punter did not travel with the team because of shoulder issues.
