Zalgiris Kaunas remain win-less in the pre-season phase before the upcoming Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.

The Lithuanian champions 69-76 (18-20, 16-20, 11-19, 24-17) lost to Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in the Gloria Cup opener in Turkey. It was the third loss in a row for Zalgiris.

It was the second win for Loko against Zalgiris. Last week the Russian club won 88-87 in Kaunas.

Today Lokomotiv took control in the third quarter. Darius Thompson knocked down a 3-pointer and made a dunk, Sergey Dolinin added a lay-up, while Lokomotiv made an 11-2 run and built a 13-points lead (55-42).

Zalgiris managed to cut the deficit to 7 points (58-65) in the middle of the fourth quarter, but that didn’t cause a lot of problems for Lokomotiv, which finished the game in a comfortable fashion.

For the winners, Jonathan Motley scored 21 points (8/10 2PT, 5/6 FT), and added 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, and 34 EFF.
