Bogdan Bogdanovic could not miss a preseason tournament in Istanbul. Not when two of his former teams and coaches played in front of the crowd that he loves so much. Bogdanovic is well aware of both clubs' head coaches as he worked with Zeljko Obradovic in Fener (2014-17) and played for Aleksandar Djordjevic in the Serbian national team (2013-19).

Bogdanovic agreed to give a short interview to BasketNews. He shared his thoughts on Partizan's rebuilding process: "Europe knows who they are (Zoran Savic and Zeljko Obradovic), people know their names but they are not playing. It's all about the players, how they are going to react. But I believe in them and they are going to settle everything the way it has to be settled. They have a young, talented team and a lot of potential."

Asked about Alen Smailagic who led Partizan to victory over AS Monaco in a triple-overtime thriller, the Serbian basketball star said: "He still has NBA player quality. This is a good situation for him to show that he belongs to the best league in the world."

Bogdanovic also praised his former coach in the Serbian national team, Aleksandar Djordjevic, with whom NBA athlete won three silver medals in World Cup (2014), Olympic Games (2016), and EuroBasket (2017).

The 29-year-old wing believes in Djordjevic's success with Fenerbahce: "I think he is great and I had a great time with him on the national team, spending five summers together. He is an experienced coach, coming from a successful year with Virtus Bologna. Maybe they did not win the EuroCup but they played in the semi-final and won the Italian basketball league. That is a big thing for Bologna. He has the quality to lead this team and I support him."

In the end, Bogdan Bogdanovic shared his expectations for the next NBA season. He believes the Atlanta Hawks can go even further.
