Report: Clippers secure a $500M naming rights deal for their new arena in Inglewood / News - Basketnews.com
The Los Angeles Clippers have announced the agreement for the naming rights of their new arena in Inglewood, which is slated to open ahead of the 2024-25 season. According to several reports, the deal with the financial software provider Intuit is expected to be worth more than $500 million and will be the most lucrative naming rights deal in the history of the league.
One year ago the Clippers hired the CAA Sports agency to help them find a naming rights partner. The new Intuit Dome is expected to generate around $260 million in annual economic activity. This deal will also help reinvigorate the local economy and the businesses around the area.
The Clippers have been sharing the Staples Centers with the Los Angeles Lakers since 1999 but after the arrival of new owner Steve Ballmer, projects for a new arena have been arranged.
Steve Ballmer commented on the partnership with Intuit: "When we began the search for a partner for the LA Clippers and our new dome, we looked for one that shares our passion for technology, the pursuit of innovation, and our commitment to customers, fans and community. Intuit is a perfect fit and we’re excited to be calling our future home the Intuit Dome."
