Cedric Ceballos overcame a severe form of COVID-19 disease / News - Basketnews.com
Former NBA player Cedric Ceballos got over the fight with COVID-19.
"Hello everyone, after 20 straight days on death row, through his grace and your good wishes and prayers, I am home. I can not thank each and every one of you enough for your help. The doctors and nurses did a great job, especially in my darkest days, when I needed that extra push.
There are two things that get you through something like this whether you were vaccinated or not. 1, your will to fight and want to live and 2, your health care, because you are treated way different if you are covered, than not," Ceballos wrote on his Twitter account.
Ceballos chronicled most of his hospitalization to date via social media and was intubated for more than two weeks.
Cedric Ceballos averaged 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in an 11-year career with five teams, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns, with whom Ceballos played two different times (1990-94, 1996-98). The Suns selected Ceballos in the second round of the 1990 draft out of Cal State Fullerton.
Ceballos made the All-Star team in 1994-95 while with the Lakers. He averaged a career-high 21.7 points per game to go with 8.0 rebounds. He played two-plus seasons with the Lakers.
The 52-year-old is perhaps best known for winning the 1992 Slam Dunk Contest with a blindfolded dunk.
