Nikola Jokic didn’t play for the Serbian national team in the Tokyo Olympic Games, and he says that he would do it again.

“I made a decision. Good or bad, I stand behind it,” Jokic said during the media day with US media. “I would do the same again. It was a smart decision. Especially if you look at how many players had to miss games last season. I believe in the organization and the professional staff of the team.”

Including the playoffs, last season Jokic played in 82 games. During the regular season, he averaged 26,4 points, 10,8 rebounds, and 8,3 assists and was named an MVP.

Jokic also added that he hopes that won MVP won’t bring him more popularity.

“I’m not very interested in being famous. I don’t want to be more popular than I am now,” said Serbian.

Finally, Jokic also revealed good news - heand his wife are expecting a baby.

“My wife and I are expecting a baby, so it’s probably the most important moment of the summer break. Probably the most important moment in my life,” said Jokic.
