The French guard also revealed that so far he is happy with the situation in Madrid.

"Everything is going very well," Heurtel said in Faustino Saez's interview with El Pais. "Having acquaintances and teammates on the team makes things much easier always, on and off the court."

"Especially Fabien (Causeur), who has been here for five years, explains to me the philosophy of the club and more practical aspects such as training sessions or travel. Every time I have a question, I ask him," Heurtel added.

Heurtel also hopes that his time with Barcelona will help Real Madrid in El Clasico battles.

"I hope that every time we play against Barcelona, it also helps to have spent a few months working with Jasikevicius and getting to know his ideas," he said.

Asked about the differences between Sarunas Jasikevicius and Pablo Laso, Heurtel made himself very clear.

"That connection between the coach and the player helps a lot. The difference is that one coach did not like me, and Pablo (Laso) does. So the best thing for me is that I'm here working with him. Since I arrived, both the club and the coach made me feel that I am in a place where they love me. That is essential," Heurtel said openly.

French guard also remembered how he was separated from the rest of the Barcelona team and eventually left out in the airport by himself.

"I had a bad time, especially because of my family's concern," Heurtel said. "They were difficult moments. Barca did not respect me. But you must transform everything bad into positive things. Now, after getting over that, I'm in the perfect place.

They were tough months for my family and me. We never expected to have to live in such a situation, but the ending was perfect. It's the best thing that could happen to us. For any professional, it is a dream to be in a club like Madrid," Heurtel concluded.
