Ben Simmons turned down his teammates' offer to meet, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

It is reported that some Philadelphia 76ers players were getting ready for a trip to Los Angeles to meet with Simmons and try to convince him to start the season with the team.

However, Simmons' camp immediately turned down the potential meeting.

Three key 76ers players were going to come to Los Angeles: Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Matisse Thybulle. Simmons reportedly declined the meeting because he wanted to be traded, and no other scenario is acceptable to him.

The 76ers training camp kicks off next week, while the Media Day will take place on Monday.

Simmons still has four years and $146.7 million left on his contract.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Simmons does not plan to report to the Sixers' training camp, even if he is not traded by then.

If the Australian does not arrive at training camp, he would be fined $227 thousand for every absent day. Since teams practice six times per week, the total fine would amount to around $1.3 million.

Simmons averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists last season.
