Report: Raptors still undecided on being sellers before trade deadline
With the Feb. 9 trade deadline quickly approaching, all eyesaround the NBA continue to be on what the Toronto Raptors willdo.
It's been a disappointing season so far with the Raptors 23-28and sitting in the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference. There is alot of individual talent with Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, FredVanVleet, O.G. Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr. but it was not worked onthe court thus far.
According to Shams Charania of TheAthletic, vice chairman and president of basketball operationsMasai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster have told rival teamsthat "the franchise will make a decision about being a buyer orseller – or standing pat – near deadline day."
It has been widely believed that if the Raptors do becomesellers, Trent and VanVleet are the players most likely to be movedwith both eligible to become free agents in the offseason. Therewill be no shortage of teams interested in Anunoby if Torontodecides to move the versatile forward and he will command a hugeprice.
Charania adds that the Knicksare willing to offer multiple first-round picks for Anunoby and theSuns – who control all eight of their first-round picks through2030 – are another team that could be highly interested.
