Laso: 'Our three-point percentage was not good enough to win' / News - Basketnews.com
Real Madrid suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of Olympiacos Piraeus (74-68).
Player of the Game EFF 18 Aleksandr Vezenkov Points 16 Accuracy 6-13 Rebounds 10 Assists 0
The Spanish powerhouse remains 4-0 in the ACB League, after having won the SuperCup against FC Barcelona.
In the post-game presser following the game in Greece, Laso emphasized his team's percentages in three-point shots and the offensive boost that both Tyler Dorsey and Aleksandar Vezenkov gave to the winning side.
"Congratulations to Olympiacos on a big win. Both parts had a solid game. Defensively, both teams played at a great level. I think that two minutes, when Vezenkov and Dorsey scored 8 points in a row, made the difference," the Basque coach said.
"Those points opened up the game and it was difficult for us to come back to the scoreboard. When you look at the stats, it’s difficult to win away from home on 12% three-point shots. Sometimes, numbers are just numbers but tonight our three-point percentage was not good enough to win," Laso commented.
Real's head coach also didn't forget to give the credit to the Greek side.
"I give credit to Olympiacos because they played a very good game, they were very physical and they got a victory that we have to make up for in the future," the experienced tactician acknowledged.
