Fenerbahce Istanbul faced the spectrum of another defeat, this time around in their Turkish League contest against Bahcesehir Istanbul, but -in contrast to what happened in their EuroLeague game against Panathinaikos- Jan Vesely was there for the rescue.

The big man from the Czech Republic made the double-tipping winner after Nando De Colo had misfired from the three-point range, to keep his team's perfect domestic record (3-0) and hand them a very narrow 78-79 (24-19, 12-18, 18-20, 24-21) victory.

Once again, Sasa Djordjevic's squad played with fire. Bahcesehir were leading by 78-77, but Vesely put the visitors upfront with 6 seconds remaining and allowed them to sigh in relief after a tough week.

Nando De Colo was the winners' first scorer with 15 points but on a poor 4 of 13 from the field. Vesely finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while team captain Melih Mahmutoglou contributed another 12 points.

Former EuroCup MVP Jamar Smith scored 19 points on 8/14 FGs. Veteran center Oguz Savas was amazing with 14 points, 3 rebounds, and as many assists in 34 minutes of action. Nevertheless, there was little he could do when Vesely took off twice to give the win to Fenerbahce.

Former Panathinaikos big Ben Bentil added another 14 points, along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Despite holding on to a small edge, for the most part, the hosts were not able to capitalize on their good performance and Fener's fatigue.

It should be noted that three weeks ago, the two teams squared off in a preseason game, where Bahcesehir dominated Fenerbahce by 82-67 behind Bentil's 20 points and Smith's 15.

Fenerbahce: De Colo 15, Pierre 12, Henry 11, Vesely 10, Melih 9, Barthel 7, Şehmus 6, Ahmet 4, Metecan 3, Biberovic 2.
