Coach Messina explained that facing Maccabi will require patience and calm: 'Maccabi Tel Aviv is a very well organized team, coach Sfairopoulos does a very good job. That means that tactically we need to prepare to face what their defense is gonna propose or the work they'll do with pick & rolls".

"We need to work with calm and patience and we need to do that for the entire game", Messina continued. "Moving the ball and controlling the rebounds are gonna be, as often happens in EuroLeague, two key factors to win the game".

Gigi Datome, one of the most experienced players on the team, added that Milan still have a lot of room for improvement: "The season just started, so all the teams have difficulties. Maccabi is a very dangerous team and they have several players in great condition".

"We didn't have much time to prepare the game," the veteran forward explained. "When we're able to play with physicality, we make things difficult for our opponents but we're still at the beginning of the season and there's a lot of room for improvement".
