Cobbs' game-winner leads Buducnost past Valencia in a last seconds battle / News - Basketnews.com

Buducnost (2-0) got a very important win over the Spanish side Valencia (1-1). With a Justin Cobbs two-pointer with 22 seconds left in the final quarter, Buducnost took the definitive lead 71-70 (18-17, 14-21, 20-21, 19-11)

With just two minutes left, Klemen Prepelic gave a three-point lead to Valencia (67-64) again. But Buducnost didn't give up and were able to take the lead with a two-pointer from Justin Cobbs with just twenty-two seconds left on the clock (71-70). On the very last play, Valencia couldn't find the basket.

Edin Atic was the top scorer for Buducnost with 17 points (5/6 2PT, 2/4 3PT, 1/2 FT), 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 2 turnovers, and 18 PIR.

For Valencia, the top scorer was Klemen Prepelic with 14 points (1/4 2PT, 2/6 3PT, 6/6 FT), 1 rebound, 3 assists, 2 turnovers, and 11 PIR.

Buducnost kept fighting back in the final quarter, cutting down the lead. Finally, with less than 5 minutes left on the clock, Buducnost tied the game with a DJ Seeley's three-pointer (64-64).

Buducnost, behind Edin Atic's performance, was able to cut down the lead to just one point (52-53) but then, two consecutive three-pointers by Hermannsson and Prepelic gave Valencia a seven-point lead (59-52).

After a very close first quarter, Valencia opened the second period with a 9-0 run (26-18) and Buducnost got in trouble early in the quarter, reaching the foul limit with 7 minutes still left on the clock.

Thanks to a last-second two-pointer by Justin Cobbs, Buducnost cut down the lead to 6 points at the end of the second quarter (32-38).
