Fred VanVleet scored 26 points and grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds and the Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting Indiana Pacers 118-100 Wednesday night.
OG Anunoby added 25 points with five steals and Scottie Barnes had 18 points, seven assists and seven rebounds for the Raptors, who won for the second time in five games this season and for the first time in four home games.
Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon, who had 18 points, left the game early in the third quarter with a sore left hamstring and did not return.
Gary Trent Jr. added 12 points and five steals as Dalano Banton contributed a career-best 10 points off the bench for the Raptors. Precious Achiuwa also had 10 points.
Chris Duarte scored 14 points for the Pacers, who have lost four of five games. Jeremy Lamb added 12 points. Myles Turner had 10 points and seven rebounds while Domantas Sabonis had nine points and eight rebounds.
The Raptors took a 16-point lead into the fourth quarter, and Barnes' dunk increased it to 20 with 7:30 to play. Brad Wanamaker made two free throws and added a 3-point shot to cut the lead to 10 with 4:36 to play.
VanVleet made a layup and a jumper in succession and Toronto led by 14 points with 3:31 remaining. Anunoby made a 3-pointer with 2:01 to go, increasing the lead to 18 points. The lead eventually reached 23 points in the final minute.
With Anunoby scoring 16 points, the Raptors led 29-24 after one quarter.
Brogdon's layup gave Indiana a three-point lead with 7:31 to play in the second quarter. The Raptors regained the lead, 44-42, on Achiuwa's hook shot with 4:54 remaining in the half. Barnes scored four straight points to bump the lead to six. VanVleet's 3-pointer completed the first-half scoring and Toronto led 57-48.
The Raptors were ahead by 11 two minutes into the third quarter, but their advantage dwindled to six when Turner made a 3-pointer with 7:17 to play. Anunoby sank a 3-pointer after Birch's steal to give Toronto a 13-point lead with 1:56 remaining in the third.
VanVleet finished the third-quarter scoring with a 3-pointer that gave Toronto an 87-71 lead.
