Webster talked about his career path and joining Zalgiris.
“I feel honored. Obviously, it is a huge privilege, especially where I was before here and the teams I was thinking about joining. And all of a sudden, a team like Zalgiris came up, and it was like a dream come true,” – said Webster.
Webster’s first season in Europe was back in 2017-2018 when he joined Frankfurt Skyliners. Later, he joined Galatasaray Istanbul, where he made his EuroCup debut.
Webster admitted that at first, it wasn’t easy to adapt to European basketball.
“Different type of basketball that’s being played. It’s basketball at the end of the day, but it’s definitely different and a huge step up. I had a lot of struggles, had a bit of success, but it’s all part of the journey,” said Zalgiris’ newcomer.
Back in the summer, it was announced that Webster had to leave the New Zealand Breakers team because of his unwillingness to vaccinate. However, now, Webster confirmed that he had been vaccinated.
“Obviously, I’m vaccinated now. I mean, I don’t have any problems with the vaccine. I had to get it to come over here and play. It is what it is”, Webster concluded.
