Despite unsuccessful first half, Bayern managed to lead the game in the last quarter. However, the game score was determined in the details; experience brought the game to visitors.

Coach Pablo Laso praised his players in the press conference.

“First, I would like to congratulate my player for the victory. I think it was a very tough game, and we knew it,” said Laso. “Bayern has a lot of depth, they showed it tonight.”

They play very hard, and it is very hard to get a victory here. But our first half was very solid: defensively and offensively. In the second half, we lost a little bit of the rhythm of the game, but we were able to control our emotions at the end. That has made the difference at the end,” Laso added.

Real Madrid won the game with an 8-0 run at the end, when asked what decided the game on their side, Laso was delighted with his team’s spacing at the end of the game.

“I think both of our bigs played very well, they had some trouble matching up some of their players. Rubit had a very good game, he was attacking our big guys, and we got a lot of trouble.

But at the end of the game, we were able to play the other way with the small guys. We were getting hurt a little bit on the inside, but we were rebounding and moving the ball well. Also, defensively they were switching almost everything. We needed to spread out the floor. That’s what we did at the end,” Laso explained.

After playing two double-weeks in a row, Bayern’s coach Andrea Trinchieri admits that his team did not have a good start to the game last night.

“Congrats to Real Madrid. They won a tough game. We had two different games: first half we were really bad, second half we played a great game,” said Trinchieri. “We changed many things: energy, rebounding, we were better on small and big things.”

“We made a great run. In the end, just one possession was missing. We missed a shot under the basket. They passed the ball inside, and it was a foul, two free throws. I believe that we lost in a single possession. It is sad, but we fought and played a great second half,” added Trinchieri.

Coach Trinchieri was also asked about his takeout from this game.

“I believe if Hunter played in the second half, we would have a bit more energy. He was playing great, then Rubit had to play all 20 mins in the second half without rest. But I believe we put together great effort in the second half. We have to start from that.”

On missing Hunter in the second half, Trinchieri said he doesn’t know how severe the injury is.

“He received a very hard foul, and he could not play. I don’t know the situation, doctors will tell me, but I believe that the foul was very very hard,” the Italian concluded.

With this result, Real Madrid claims their sixth victory, sharing the same number of wins with Olympiacos, Barcelona, Maccabi, and ASVEL. On the other side, Bayern stays at three wins only like Fenerbahce, Crvena Zvezda, ALBA, UNICS, and Baskonia.
