Steph Curry expected to miss several weeks due to lower-leg injury
Golden State Warriors guardStephen Curry is expected to miss several weeks after suffering alower-leg injury during last night's game against the DallasMavericks.
Curry exited the game with 2:01remaining in the third quarter, and tests showed that he "sufferedpartial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments andinterosseous membrane as well as a contusion to his lower leg,"according to the Warriors' press release.
Curry was selected as an All-Star starter last week, but now hewill miss the 2023 NBA All-Star Game due to this injury. An injuryreplacement will be selected by NBA commissioner Adam Silver in thecoming days.
This season, Curry is averaging 29.4 points, 6.4 assists, 6.3rebounds, 4.9 threes and a steal, while shooting 49.5% from thefield, 42.7% from three-point range and 92.2% from the free-throwline.
The Warriors are 27-26, which is the seventh-best record in theWestern Conference.
Golden State currently has the NBA's 15th-best offense (scoring111.7 points per 100 possessions) and 15th-best defense (allowing111.4 points per 100 possessions).
