Reigning Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champions, Anadolu Efes Istanbul (3-6), came back to victorious ways.

Anadolu Efes 90-63 (20-21, 31-14, 19-12, 20-16) beat ALBA Berlin (3-6) in Mercedes-Benz Arena to secure their third victory of the season.

The visitors put the game to bed in the second quarter. Adrien Moerman and Rodrigue Beaubois sank two 3-pointers, Vasilije Micic added another shot from deep, while Anadolu Efes went on a 16-2 run and built a 20-point lead (49-29).

The second half of the game was a mere formality as Anadolu Efes kept their safe lead and secured a very convincing victory.

“First of all congratulations to EFES. They are a great team,” Israel Gonzalez admitted. “They showed up today. And when they play like this, it’s very difficult for us. We have to do better next time because we can do better and we have to work on it.”

For the winners, Micic accumulated 19 points (2/4 2P, 4/6 3PT, 3/4 FT), 9 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, 6 drawn fouls, 3 turnovers, and a season-high 29 PIR.

“I’m happy tonight. Finally,” Ergin Ataman said after the game. “So I think all of us, me, the players, everybody understood that it’s time to fight, to play the game, to forget what happened the last three years, and to focus on the games.”

“And tonight we didn’t with a good mentality. Maybe we didn’t play our real game like before, but we showed a good mentality, everybody fought for the team. We had a good defense,” Ataman concluded.

Meanwhile, ALBA was led by Oscar Da Silva, who accumulated 13 points (2/3 2PT, 1/1 3PT, 6/6 FT), 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 5 drawn fouls, 1 turnover, and 15 PIR.
