Laso after climbing to the top of EuroLeague: ‘I’m pleased, but we still lack continuity in our game’ / News - Basketnews.com
Real Madrid (9-2) slept this Thursday on the top of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague standings after a solid victory against Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade.

The Blancos tied its best start since the new format was introduced back in 2016. They also began the season with 9 wins in 11 rounds in 2018-19.
Pablo Laso admitted he should be critical of his team because of an irregular first half and recognized how tough the schedule is.
“It was the fourth match in seven days, and it was difficult to get into it. I think it was a demanding match, but we managed to pull it off. I’m pleased with the win that saw us get better as the game progressed,” Laso said.
The Spanish mastermind analyzed the whole game, as well as the schedule’s toughness.
“Our first half wasn’t good, but we were tight. We made many mistakes and didn’t control the game. In the second half, we tired the opponent and moved the ball around much better, which allowed us to create more assists. We were much better on offense,” he continued.
“The schedule doesn’t allow us to rest, train and improve. The matches are very tiring, and we’re in the middle of a tough period. We have some important players out, who give us more with the rotations, but it’s a job that starts from the first day of the season,” he explained.
Despite a 9-2 record in the Euroleague, Laso encouraged their players to keep improving.
“We have a very good winning record, it speaks volumes about the team. If you have this winning record at this point, you’ve done a lot of things right. I’m very pleased, but we still lack continuity in our game”, he confessed.
Asked about Rudy Fernandez’s performance, who once again was a key factor for Real Madrid, Laso could not express anything but respect.
“He knows how to handle himself very well. It’d be nice for him not to have any physical problems. We always expect the best from him, and in the big games, he gives us a lot of things that I value besides points”, said the 54-year-old coach.
Adam Hanga, who scored 11 points with a perfect 3/3 from the ę-point line, underlined how fine he is.
“I’m enjoying myself here, playing in a different position. I try to defend well and adapt to the team. Some days I succeed more and some days less, but the important thing is that I’m in a winning team”, said the Hungarian forward.
